Kwartzlab is a hacker/maker space located in downtown Kitchener Ontario. We acquired space in August 2009 and opened our doors in October 2009. Our members have varied interests ranging from computers, coding & electronics to arts and costume building.
Kwartzlab is the site for the SoOnCon 2010 Reception on October 1st, 2010.
Facilities
3000 square feet of space broken up into four sections:
- Clean Work Room - For dust-free projects like electronics, painting, etc.
- Lounge - Comfy space with a growing library of books and magazines of all topics.
- Tool Room - Heavy machinery room for large and dusty projects
- Kitchen - For those late hungry nights, complete with industrial-sized fridge with a wide range of drinkables
Location
We're located on the main floor of the historic Boehmer Box factory in downtown Kitchener. Parking can be found on Breithaupt Street, in the factory lot off Breithaupt and on the other side of the building along the train tracks. Our main entrance is the red double doors on Breithaupt Street.
